Rimini all year round

The wall of nicknames

In one of the most picturesque areas of the city, Borgo San Giuliano, and in one of the prettiest little squares in Rimini (Piazzetta Ortaggi) stands a very special brick building. Its uniqueness is that of having been elected, over the years, by the old inhabitants of the place as a veritable Wall of Fame in borgo sauce. On its façade, in fact, the names (or should we say nicknames, since everyone in the hamlet had one) of the many picturesque characters considered milestones in the culture of the small hamlet community are displayed on ceramic tiles. Zanchèt, Cativeria, Belabarba, La Furmighina, Plein Ciocialat… reading them is truly a journey into the past of this magical place and an original and evocative way to meet these old protagonists of a mythical and perhaps now lost world.
