Rimini is the destination for those who want to live summer to the fullest: swimming, snorkeling, water sports, or sunbathing are just a few examples of popular activities on Rimini’s seaside. On Rimini’s coast you’ll find public beach stretches and about 250 beach establishments, which cater to anyone’s needs: pet-friendly areas, beach bars, and child-friendly playgrounds on shallow water. After a pleasant day at the beach, sightseeing in the center of Rimini and having authentic Romagnolo dishes in one of the many restaurants, bistrots or delis will be the cherry on top.
Rimini’s beach stretches for 15 kilometers. A colorful setting, with a breathtaking view, for whatever activity you’ll have planned for the day. The sand is soft, with shades ranging from golden to white, and the seawater is crystal clean.
In an effort to preserve the marine ecosystem, Rimini’s administration has declared the beach plastic-free, forbidding the use of disposable plastic cups and straws in favor of recyclable alternatives. Moreover, smoking has been banned in the proximity of seawater.
What to do in Rimini’s seaside
Rimini is the queen of water sports. If you’re looking for fun activities in Rimini’s seaside, there are several options to consider. We recommend checking out the many nautical centers scattered along the beach, most of them are in the Darsena area or in the beach establishments n. 146, 93, 78, 69, 62, 32, 17, 8.
Stand up paddle (Sup) is the signature summer sport.
Paddle surfing, also known as Sup (stand up paddle) is becoming one of the most popular summer sports in Rimini. It combines elements of Hawaiian surfing and canoeing: you’ll be paddling while balancing on a surfboard, that means cruising along the coast and training your abs (and other muscles) at the same time! In Rimini you can try many variations of this sport, with different kinds of surfboards such as the yoga Sup or the jumbo Sup. At Bagno Libra you can rent a jumbo Sup that fits up to 8 people, and play “giocanuoto” with the Blue Beach Center staff!
At San Giuliano beach, in the Darsena area, you can try Yoga Sup. Whether you are an amateur or a Sup enthusiast, you can contact Rimini Yogi and schedule a 90 minute yoga sup session, in the morning or at sunset with breakfast or aperitifs included. Meeting point: “East Coast” kiosk reception. Schedule: every Saturday morning at 10 a.m.; every Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. Fee: €20 including brunch/aperitif. Max. 8 people per class, reservation required on whatsapp at +39 331 528 5154.
Stay active: all the options for water sports in Rimini.
The merger of beach establishments n. 35 and 36 resulted in Adriatic Village, a beach sport center specialized in aquatic activities, where you can learn and practice sup, water yoga and surfing. At the brand new Sup center you can choose from 20 different surfing boards, depending on your needs and sea conditions. In addition, Adriatic Academy, open all summer, hosts “Land & Sea Training” sessions, a brand new outdoor workout program in a completely renovated training area. Info: info@adriaticvillage.com.
In nautical centers, besides paddle boats, rowing flies, paddle surfboards and bumper boats, you will also find sailboats, dinghies (inflatable boats), windsurf boards and jet skis available for rent. The offer includes hydro-skiing activities such as “banana boat”, “jumbo donut”, “crazy ufo”, “disco boat”, “inflatable sofa”, “extreme bull” and wakeboard. You’ll also find qualified personnel for sup, sailing, windsurfing and aquagym lessons, as well as swimming lessons for children.
windsurf or wakeboard?
Riki’s Tribù is a nautical center and windsurf school located in the proximity of beach establishment n. 78. It’s mainly known for windsurfing, but it offers equipment for a range of activities: parasailing, “fly-fish” (or “flying banana”), a variation of banana boat which gives the impression of floating over the water, windkart, a small sailing catamaran with a shroud-less mast available for beginner courses (info at www.rikistribu.com). Have you ever heard about flyboard? A jet ski attached under your feet will lift you over the water, allowing you to perform stunts, Or pick an Hoverboard (locally known as “volopattino”) and start skating over the water. Both are available at Bellariva nautical center, on the beach establishment n. 93-94.
At Alfio Survivor in Rivazzurra (www.alfiosurvivor.it), or Deriva di Rimini (www.alladeriva.it) nautical centers you can try wakeboarding, a combination of water skiing and snowboarding that allows anybody to perform exciting maneuvers. For the most daring, we recommend Aqua twister rides or Tubing, an air chamber that gets dragged over the water.
Jet-skiing: no license required!
Bagni Libra, a merger of the beach establishments n. 63, 63A, 63B, 64 and 65, features a nautical center where you can rent and use brand-new jet-skis without the need of a boating license. These vehicles are maneuvered via steering wheel and feature outboard engine, qualifying as motor boats; thus they can be driven, without a boating license, by anyone over 18. These jet-skis can fit up to 3 people thanks to the elongated shape of the seat.
Enjoy an aperitif and spend the night on board!
Going out at sea and enjoying aperitifs at sunset is definitely an experience you shouldn’t miss during your stay in Rimini. After sailing along the coast, drop anchor and enjoy your boat party!

Below sea level: dive and discover Rimini’s sunken treasures.
The depths of Rimini’s sea shelter treasures unknown to most. Let’s set off on an underwater tour that spans various sites known as “piattaforma Paguro” (Hermit crab platform), “Piramidi” (pyramids), “Tralicci” (frameworks), “Isola delle Rose” (Island of Roses) and the relics of Zoe 2 cargo ship, Anni cargo ship and B 24 bombarder. There are several diving spots that make Rimini a diver’s paradise, suitable for all levels of experience and very diverse in terms of marine species.
Seven sites for sensational diving sessions
Le Piramidi (“Pyramids”) is an artificial immersion site created 25 years ago for the reproduction of mussels, now teeming with marine life of all kinds. The site is made up of Huge iron gabions protected by pyramid-shaped concrete blocks, with man-made crevices to accommodate fish burrows. Suitable for both amateur and experienced divers, with minimum depth of 8 meters and maximum depth of 13.
Have you ever wondered about diving in space? Tralicci (“frameworks”) will give you the impression of swimming around an abandoned spaceship. This decommissioned methane well consisting of 4 giant plinths is suitable for all types of diving patents, with minimum depths of 9 meters and maximum depths of 26m.
Cargo Zoe 2 sank in 1983 in perfect sailing trim; both the ship and the load remained intact. It was found in 2011, with a minimum depth of 38 meters and a maximum depth of 67.
The Cargo Anni relic sunk in 1989. Its furnishing and gear remained intact, and cabins, kitchens and quarters are still accessible. A marine biology paradise that you can reach by a 50 minute boat ride.
The remains of the U.S. B24 bomber with 6 50-caliber machine guns, constitutes a site suitable for experienced, Trimix-certified divers. Minimum depth 62 meters, and maximum depth 66 meters.
The myth of Isola delle Rose
At Isola delle Rose (“Island of Roses”) you will delve deep into the history of the utopic micronation built by Giorgio Rosa, an engineer from Bologna. On May 1, 1968, it self-proclaimed an independent state with an official language (Esperanto), government, currency and postage stamp. It’s a 400 square meters artificial platform located 500m outside Italian territorial waters, 12 kilometers off the coast of Rimini. Never formally recognized by any country, it was occupied by police forces and demolished in 1969. The remains are now a diving site suitable for all divers, given the maximum depth of 12 meters.
Snorkeling, what a view!
One of the most beautiful sites of the Adriatic coast is a crag stretch not far from Rimini, at the feet of the San Bartolo natural park. In Baia degli Angeli, the water is crystal clear and the seabed is easily reachable. Here you can snorkel along the cliffs with an instructor, and then rest ashore in a secluded area with fine sand. A unique experience suitable for everyone.
Fun in seawater!
If you’re a fan of waterparks, you definitely shouldn’t miss Boabay. With its modular inflatables, it extends from the beach establishment 47 to 62, in the piazzale Benedetto Croce area. At Boabay you’ll find tunnels, inclined ramps, platforms, trampolines, and even a “climbable” iceberg, as well as “Goleador Water Stadium”, an area that children up to 6 years / 140 cm of height can access with an adult. The waterpark is open until the end of August, from 10:00 am to 13:00 pm and from 15:00 pm to 19:00 pm, weather permitting. One of the many ways to have fun while doing physical activity in Rimini’s seawater!
